
First Discoveries at First Baptist Church is offered as a community ministry. Our purpose is to provide educational preschool care so that parents have opportunity for personal activities. First Discoveries provides a loving environment in which spiritual, educational and social growth is promoted and encouraged.

Admission Procedure
- An Application Form with emergency contact and immunization information must be completed and kept current for each child. Admission will be on a first come, first serve basis, and as space allows in each age group according to maximum enrollment policies.
- Age Requirements: First Discoveries accepts children from birth to 5 years old. Children are grouped according to birthday beginning on September 1st, each year.
- Payment to First Discoveries is due by the first of each month. Parents are asked to commit the days you plan you child(ren) to attend and the registration fee of $35.00 will be paid at that time. If space does not allow immediate enrollment, the registration fee will be paid and the child(ren) will be placed on a waiting list for the appropriate age group.
Fees: The fees for First Discoveries are as follows:
Daily Rate (1 day)
Infants (6 weeks – 1 year) -- $20.00, $18.00 for each additional child
Older Children (1 year & older) -- $18.00, $16.00 for each additional child
Registration Fee: Due at time of enrollment -- $35.00
FIRST DISCOVERIES HOURS: 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A calendar will be provided for all days First Discoveries is closed and our holiday schedule.
Arrival
- Children should not arrive at the facility prior to 9:30 a.m. or depart from the facility after 3:00 p.m.
- Parents should escort children into the facility and register their attendance at the front desk. Do not “drop-off” your child.
- Children will not be released to anyone who is not registered as an authorized pickup parent or guardian. Parents must come into the facility to pick up children and sign them out.
Illness
- No child is allowed to attend First Discoveries when running a fever. Please do not bring any child to First Discoveries until fever-free for at least 24 hours. Any illness detected while at First Discoveries will be immediately reported to parents.
- The First Discoveries staff cannot administer any form of medication, for any reason.
Foods
- INFANTS: All formula, food containers, baby food jars and bottles must be labled with child’s first and last name. All baby food jars must be new – no previously opened containers permitted. All food, bottles, utensils and bibs should be in a single “zip-lock” bag. Please label bag with child’s first and last name.
- OLDER CHILDREN: Bring a sack lunch with sandwich or finger foods and drink. Label all containers and food bags with child’s first and last name.
Clothing: Clothing should be such as to allow the child to participate in all activities that might include paint, glue, etc., and outdoor activities. Each child should bring an extra set of clothes. All clothing should be labeled with child’s first and last name. DO NOT BRING PERSONAL TOYS FROM HOME.
Nap Facilities: Following lunch, all children will have a rest period. All babies and toddlers will be provided a crib. Please send a lightweight blanket (with child’s name on it). Older children should bring a sleeping mat, pillowcase or cover mat, and if desired a small pillow. Please place all nap and sleeping materials in a single bag for each child. Label all personal belongings with the child’s first and last name. All nap and sleeping materials should be taken home after each session.

Important - Please Note Participation in the Parents Day Out program requires parents to fill out and sign Application and Registration forms. These forms are available for download so you may print them and complete them.
