Summary: Did you ever hear someone make a promise then not stick around long enough to see if they kept it? While among His disciples, Jesus promised, “I will build My church.” He founded it upon a rock and promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against it. After His resurrection, Jesus stood in the midst of the seven churches of Asia and evaluated what was being built – how His promise was being fulfilled. At the beginning of this often interpreted and likewise, often misinterpreted book, filled with: angels and demons; lambs, lions, horses and dragons; broken seals, blown trumpets, and poured out bowls; malicious beasts – one from the sea with ten horns and seven heads; one from the earth with a lamb’s horns and a dragon’s voice; thunder, lightening, hail, fire, blood, and smoke. John recorded what Jesus said to the churches.
