Eight Days To Glory, Tuesday Evening (Jewish Wednesday)
Eight Days To Glory, Tuesday Evening (Jewish Wednesday)
Series: Matthew 26:1-16; Studying Jesus' last week on earth.
Summary: Did you ever have one of those days that seemed to never end? Jesus did - Tuesday of the last week of His earthly ministry. In fact, it has taken us several Sundays just to get through the events of Tuesday. Having answered the questions of His critics, given stern lectures on the end of time and debated His opposition, Jesus retreated to Bethany to rest. Always Bethany - a suburb of Jerusalem. Many people sought lodging there during this Passover time of year. Jesus had close friends there – Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Located just on the other side of the Mount of Olives. All four gospel writers record the events of this evening. However, John places these events in Bethany as happening earlier – “six days before the Passover” = Friday before the Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem on Sunday.
