First Baptist Church of Lawton/Ft. Sill wants to encourage, help, and support the active military members and their families in our community. Some of the ways we seek to minister are:
We provide numerous Life Groups that provide connecting points for military personnel at their particular stage of life. Our Singles I Life Group connects single military personnel in Bible study and relationship. Adult 7 provides a connecting point for newly married military personnel or military families with preschool children. Adult 6A provides a connecting point for military families with middle school and high school children. Adult 6B (aka The Book Club) provides a connecting point for military families with grade school children.
Parent's Day Out
First Discoveries-Parents' Day Out (PDO) is a ministry (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) to preschoolers (infants through pre-kindergarten) and their parents. PDO staff members strive to complement parents’ responsibility in modeling God’s love and teaching foundational Biblical truths to each child, while maintaining a safe, sanitary, stimulating, positive environment for the children.
Upward is a fun, reliable, passionate, and encouraging sports experience for boys and girls available through First Baptist Church. Upward provides first class, organized, and detailed sports programming in basketball and cheerleading. Children of military personnel who are deployed during the actual Upward season may participate at a reduced cost.
Care Packages for Deployed Soldiers
First Baptist Church provides care packages, letters, worship service DVD's and prayers support for individuals connected to First Baptist Church deployed in combat zones.
